Harajuku Gyoza, AKA “that quirky Japanese restaurant in the valley where everyone yells SAKE!”, is set for dumpling domination with it’s third restaurant launching this Friday at 141 Queen street in the CBD.
If you haven’t visited Harajuku Gyoza you are missing out. Whilst it’s not somewhere that I visit often I love taking friends to Harajuku Gyoza for the first time to witness their eyes widen as they submit to the sensory overload that is Harajuku Gyoza. The interior of Harajuku Gyoza restaurants is vibrant and colourful, think less Japanese Tea-house and more pop-culture kawaii. The staff are known for singing songs, dancing (the last time I visited they danced a choreographed version of Gangnam Style), yelling greetings in Japanese, and getting very, very, excited when you order sake.
I wouldn’t be retaining my journalistic integrity if I didn’t mention that the dumplings are middle-of-the-road and that there isn’t much to offer for vegetarians, however this shouldn’t dissuade you from visiting because the fun-factor at Harajuku cannot be matched anywhere else in Brisbane.
Everyone who attends the launch has the chance to win a return flight for 2 to Tokyo as part of their instagram competition. To enter just instagram in image of the interior of the restaurant with the hashtag #HGCBD and the winning winning photograph will be selected by Channel Nine’s Today Show star, Sylvia Jeffreys.

See you at the launch!
