Prepare yourself for Fish Lane Festival!

Posted by on May 5, 2016 in Restaurants

The first ever Fish Lane Festival is happening tomorrow and the Hole in the Wall team is just too darn excited!

With pop up food stalls from our favourite Southbank and West End restaurants, drink stations (um hello to the Tanqueray Gin Garden!) and live music, this is going to be the only way you’ll want to spend your Saturday.

The Festival has sent us a stack of photos of what’s on offer this Saturday and they have me drooling. Whether it’s the deep fried stuffed olives from Julius Pizzeria (heck yes), or the cumin ribs from West End icon The Gunshop Café, there’s something for everyone to munch on and enjoy.

Here are our picks for what will be some of the best dishes on the day.

New favourite Gauge is sharing a pop-up stall with their sister cocktail bar Maker. Both are known for sourcing seasonal, local produce and skilfully using it in their delicious food and thirst quenching drinks. Any drink from Maker is delicious and I can’t wait to sip on their cocktails whilst slurping down fresh oysters with gin and lemon myrtle from Gauge.Gauge Oysters Gin

I’ve already touched on the olives from Julius, but their other dishes are worth a mention too! Anyone who knows me knows I’m a sucker for their pizza but their pasta is also pretty bloody good. Only tricky bit is deciding between the gnocchi, little clouds of happiness that they are, or the penne with ragu. Bugger it. Bring a friend and share it all.

And let’s not forget the drink bars! The Tanqueray Gin Bar deserves a second mention, but I cannot look past the Espresso Martini Bar (!!!). Beer lovers are looked after with tents from both White Rabbit and Little Creatures, and the vino lovers like myself will be cared for by the Madfish Wine Tent.

If you can’t tell, I am looking forward to this festival. There’s nothing better than enjoying a range of delicious foods and drinks with friends in a relaxed, convivial setting. And imma be the most convivial person out after a few espresso martinis!
