Stores West End

Provenance Fare at The Stores

Posted by on Oct 2, 2015 in Retail

Food lovers rejoice! Brisbane has a new providore and it is supplying the goods.

The Stores at West End is bringing the best of the Lockyer Valley and beyond to the shopping baskets of Brisbane. Owned by Peter and Melinda Schulte of Schulte meats, the couple believes that it is important to eat locally sourced, seasonal produce that you can trace back to its roots. With this mind frame, they are inviting the people of Brisbane to come along and meet the makers this Saturday, October 03.

The  families and faces  behind some of the Store’s most popular products will be at hand on Saturday, such as the Glasser family of Yagaburne Beef, the Puglisi Family from Ballandean Wines, Ian & Dot Roy of Coolana Olives, the Dunlop family of Dunlop Honey, the Dipple Family of Bare Essentials fresh produce and many more.

With each family sharing their unique history, you can taste your way through the deli and gain a deeper understanding of the food you eat and the Queensland farms you’re supporting.

Whether it’s a whole wall packed to the brim with gorgeous cheese, organic teas presented in reusable containers or the fully stocked deli counter, The Stores has something to make every mouth salivate. The Stores at West End is the first Brisbane division of the largest specialised bulk food retailer in Australia, The Source. With stores all over the country, they are dedicated to bringing a fun and interactive no waste shopping experience to the people of Australia, focusing on whole foods, health foods and a huge range of paleo, gluten free, organic & vegan products.

On offer on Saturday are a variety of small goods from Schulte’s famed Meat Tavern, alongside some fancy drops from Stanthorpe, cheese from Kingaroy, beef from Goondiwindi and pork from Millmerran.

As you wander around on a fast-tracked foodie tour of Queensland, you will be serenaded with acoustic sets by local Brisbane band Sleeping Dogs. With face painting for the little ones and cooking demonstrations and tastings for all, there’s plenty to enjoy.

Whether it’s your go-to grocer for all your produce or the destination for the perfect wine and cheese, supporting our local growers and makers is something that The Stores excels at and that all Queenslanders should get behind.
