Sunday Seshing and Remy’s

Posted by on Apr 17, 2016 in Bars, beer, Cafes, Restaurants

2-for-1 burgers is the kind of deal that I never even need to think about. Not even for a second. I’m in 100%. Which is why when I heard of a tiny place down the road from me that specialises in 2-for-1 burger deals I got my skates on.

Remy’s is a small open air cafe/bar on Latrobe Terrace in Paddington. You’d be forgiven for thinking that you were a pity invite to your hip cousin’s friend’s Sunday arvo house party; Remy’s feels exclusive yet familiar at the same time. Everyone there on the sunny Sunday arvo that I visited seemed to be there with a big bunch of friends that also seemed to know that other group of people in the corner who also knew the bartender and she knew the group out the front.┬áIt seemed as though a mutual appreciation for sick burger dealz had really bonded these people together.

Just chilling with the cool kids. Blending in, getting down with the lingo and updating on the 411.

My partner and I squeezed on to the end of a bench table which already had a group of mates rooted firmly to it. We ordered a pitcher of sangria, two cheese burgers and some fries to share which came to a whopping grand total of $31. I almost fainted. We also followed up our sangria with some Jamaican alcoholic ginger beer which was only $8 a bottle. Pretty damn good for fancy imported ginger beer!

SO. GOOD.

SO. GOOD.

The burgers were AMAZING. Everything you could want in a cheeseburger. The bun was crispy yet soft, the patty was robust and juicy, the cheese was sharp and melty and there was definitely a satisfying amount of pickle action. I also consider myself a chip connoisseur and Remy’s chips really floated my boat. They were the perfect thickness, perfectly salted, perfectly crispy, accompanied by real ketchup and mayo. You couldn’t ask for much better really.

I proceeded to spend the rest of my Sunday afternoon drinking my cares away with a food coma. Life was good.

If you want to check out Remy’s for some seriously good burgers, you can find them at 106 Latrobe Terrace, Paddington. They are open 7 days for breakfast and lunch mainly consisting of the most essential food group: burgers.
