Not everyone’s idea of a good night out is the same; some live for a boogie on a steamy dance floor with strangers and others prefer a night out spent eating good food with friends. We’re a mix of the aforementioned at Hole In The Wall which is why we have decided to pull together a list of New Years parties to suit all styles. If you’re in a pinch for where to head this New Years, keep on reading!
The riverside reveller:
If you’re a sucker for a good view and a glass of bubbly on a balmy Brissy night, then head down to The Jetty‘s French Riviera themed evening at Southbank’s riverfront. For $170 you get a five hour drinks (includes cocktails) and canapes package. You will automatically have a front row seat to the New Years fireworks accompanied by the musical stylings of DJ, Cool Hand Luke. If you live a champagne life on a goon budget, try your hand at winning some tix here.
The food baby:
When a full belly and being tucked into bed by 12:30 sounds like a New Years well spent, you’re probably going to want to suss out somewhere with a generous food deal going on. Bird’s Nest Yakitori in West End is putting on a $60 set menu and drinks deal that is sure to see you ring in the New Year with a food baby in tow. Included is a 5 course meal (starter, 7 skewers, salad, hot soba and dessert) and either a glass of sparkling, sake or soft drink.’
The street partier:
If you’re the kind of person who would prefer to go to a house party but haven’t managed to track one down yet, then you might be keen to party the night away at Brooklyn Standard’s first ever NYE block party down at Eagle Lane. The crew from Brooklyn Standard will be pulling out all the stops this year to transform the laneway into their very own slice of New York City complete with stunning visuals motifs, lighting and roving entertainment and music from Pocketlove and LS Philosophy. There will also be a 70s disco bar downstairs spinning records from 7:30pm, onwards. Tickets are $149 and include a 4.5hr food and drinks package. The food is courtesy of Red Hook and Pizzantica (think pizza, burgers and hot dogs, oh my!) and cocktails, basics, beer and bubbly are included.
The pub banger:
For those of you who can think of no better way to boogie NYE away with songs such as this –
you’ll probably be seeking out a classic pub party. The Fox Hotel will be having a Mexican New Years fiesta! The perfect party to satisfy those who want a little of everything and you’ll still get to glimpse the fireworks. Tickets include drinks (beer, wine, premium spirits and margaritas) and a Mexican feast for five hours. If you care not for fireworks, the ‘Margaritaville’ package is just $89, but if you want to head up to the rooftop to witness the fireworks, get the ‘Cancun Rooftop’ package for $179 (this also includes more food!).
Mr Fancy pants:
This year, Soleil Pool Bar in South Bank are going all out with a Havana Nights themed NYE party.
